Homemade Berry Jam

We found ourselves with a lot of very ripe berries all at once. One option is to freeze them for smoothies, but we are completely out of freezer space. Then I remembered how easy it is to make homemade berry jam!

Take your berries (or whatever fruit you want to use, but I recommend ripe berries or stone fruits), and heat them in a pot until they start to break up and release their liquid. Either mash them right there in that pot OR if you like a smoother texture, blend them. Either way, add 1 tbsp chia seeds per cup of fruit and 1/2 tbsp lime juice per cup of fruit. Mix or blend together.

Allow to cool slightly to thicken, pour into a glass jar and store in the fridge.

PS – this one is mostly blueberries, some blackberries, a little bit of strawberries and a lot of deliciousness!
